Rugby Club Wageningen is very happy to invite you to play at our
INTERNATIONAL EASTER RUGBY TOURNAMENT
SATURDAY 8 APRIL – SUNDAY 9 APRIL 2007
Our tournament will have a low-budget set-up, for both men’s and women’s teams.
On Saturday we will organize a 15-a-side tournament, and on Sunday a 10-a-side tournament will be held. In this way we hope each participating team can field a full side on both days. But if a full weekend doesn’t fit in your schedule, you are of course welcome to participate on one of the days.
We will arrange games, training facilities when necessary, party’s, entertainment and of course enough to drink. Participation costs are € 75 (50 UK pounds) per team per day. We will have a small gift for each team on arrival. And of course a free lunchbox for each team every day of the tournament. In the evening dinner will be served for an extra fee. Participating teams will be asked to indicate if they want to have dinner at the club. We can assist you with finding accommodation. We presume you to have your own transport. The schedule of the tournament, travel information and ways of lodging will be sent to you after we have received your inscription. Please inscribe by returning the included registration form as soon as possible.
Rugby Club Wageningen was founded in 1970 and is the club where in our country women’s rugby started in 1975. Nowadays the club has two men’s sides that play at a junior level. Since the team was formed, our women’s side always played in the top half of the competition. They have been champions three times; last time the team played in the final was in 2001. Many female and some male Dutch international players started their career at our club. We are proud of our club house and facilities, which include a very good pitch and brand new changing rooms. Our sports park is in a beautiful setting, at the edge of some of the ‘Dutch mountains’. We love the spirit of rugby, both on and off the field.
Wageningen is a lively university town in the middle of the Netherlands, about 1 hour from Amsterdam and 45 km east of Utrecht.
